Hi-Dri Cavity Filler is a good moisture absorbing, high bulk, granular compound. It is recommended for filling the thoracic and visceral cavities. This product will help to dry and firm tissues, but without any Formalin it has limited preservation capability. Embalmers will often add Hizone's Paulex Powder with the Hi-Dri to achieve better tissue preservation. Hi-Dri Cavity Filler is sometimes added to either Hizone Hardening Compound or Kalock Hardening Compound as a bulk filler. Hi-Dri will not cake into hard lumps or solidify in either the container or cadaver. If embalming procedures are performed when cremations are specifically planned, the Hi-Dri Cavity Filler is suggested as the primary cavity filler due both to low final ash residue and no chlorinated organic compound content (does not form acid gases as combustion by-products). Hi-Dri Cavity Filler's formulation has been recently modified to become an improved nearly "dust-free" product for the embalmer's convenience.
