Nasco -- isotonic arterial fluid series

The Nasco arterial fluid series include Nasco Medium (Index 20), Nasco Hard (Index 28), and Nasco Xtra Hard (Index 37). The Nasco fluids are formulated with a special combination of chemical salts forming an isotonic fluid to achieve proper osmotic balance with the tissues' naturally occurring salt content. When each pint of fluid concentrate is diluted to 1 gallon, the dissolved chemical salts content will minimize tissue swelling or dehydration, and also aid in preservation and tissue penetration. These fluids are further augmented with other preservatives, humectants, and tissue penetration aids. Final tissue firmness set-up is controlled by the fluid selection. Under dilution or over dilution of any Nasco fluid to change the diluted formaldehyde index is not recommended, because it will alter the preservative and salts final concentration from the planned levels.

Application Suggestions:

Dilute one pint of any Nasco arterial fluid concentrate to make each gallon of injection fluid. Combine with the Modaflex Co-injection to achieve increased drainage and penetration while moderating body moisture levels and a more pliable body even when embalmed very firm with the higher index fluid. (See the Additives product section for more detailed desccriptions of Modaflex Co-injection's uses.)
